Of Voting, Government, and other Unseemly Topics, Part II by Michael Bunker

Of Voting, Government, and other Unseemly Topics, Part II by Michael Bunker (This is Part II of my new series on Voting and Government. Make sure to read Part I first... mb) God’s declared will, as typified by Israel, and practiced only by the true Church, was that the elect of God would necessarily be surrounded by, but separated from, the world. The people of God would be subjected to His law and commandments, would have their own servant-leadership, their own economy, their own culture, and their own social structures. They would be separated from the world around them, and as such would serve to be a light to the dark and dying world. The Church was to be a light, and she was to show forth that light through obedience (not as individual, undefined sparks blended in amongst the darkness, but as a colony or society of light set upon a hill and separate from the world). As ordained by God, some among the darkness would see the light, glorify God, and defect from darkness to the civilization of the light. We see that Israel after the flesh was commanded to remain separate, to touch not the unclean thing, to receive defectors from the nations ‘round about, but never to go to the world for sustenance, work, salvation, protection, etc. The Church, likewise, is commanded to remain separated, and to be a community of believers, dependent on God and one another, to receive defectors from the Kingdom of This World, but to never, ever, ever blend themselves with the outside world. They were never to go to the world for work, pleasure, salvation, protection, or any other such thing. The Blending of the Kingdoms The devil tried to get Jesus Christ to accept rule over the Kingdoms of This World. He tried to blend the two Kingdoms, knowing that if he could do so before the time ordained for his destruction and the destruction of the worldly Kingdom, he would maintain temporal rule and corrupt the Church of God. But Jesus turned him down… shot his devilish plan down as plain as can be. God’s plan to utilize the Church to show forth the manifold wisdom of God to the principalities and powers in the heavenly realms and on the earth was an eternal plan for His own glorification. Blending the Church into the Kingdom of This World was counter to God’s plan, so He forbade it. But what happened? The Great Apostasy, starting with the Romanist heresies and the advent of the Papal Cult, drew the professing christian church away from God’s plan (I must say here, that there has been and always will be a very small flock, a true Church, who are still the Church of God, separated from the Kingdom of This World). The result was the increasing worldliness of the church, and the adoption of heretical kingdom philosophies that all involved the seeking for, and embracing of, temporal power. As the Universal Apostasy has flowed forward through time, and as “elections" brought forth the complete inverting of God’s divine plan, the modern church and apostate professing christians became the prophets of this rebellion and of the voting cult. They spent centuries getting their rationalistic, un-biblical arguments in order. Humanist philosophers took the well-reasoned arguments of the monarchist and Puritan Samuel Rutherford concerning the rule of law, to which even the King is subject, and they secularized them (via the philosphers Thomas Hobbes, John Locke, and the economist Adam Smith), and sold the anti-Christian and humanist results back to the church which readily and greedily consumed the poisonous result. The Universal Apostasy was aided from all sides of the professing christian spectrum. Arminian free-will theists, believing that man can do good without God, and that starting with himself, man can improve both himself and the world around him, were naturally drawn into the voting cult. In the scriptures that emphasized the sovereignty of God in salvation and His further sovereignty over all of the affairs of men, the Arminian saw only a clarion call to social activism and bootstrap political involvement. Calvinistic theocrats, believing that God had wound up the world and had put in play all of the pieces, but the Deity Himself was actually sitting upstairs on His throne just waiting for the church to take control, defeat all of His enemies, and usher Him onto His throne, also saw elections and political activism as a means to power and the expansion of the Kingdom. Remember, God had promised to expand and build the Kingdom Himself, using His elect as light to draw repentant worldlings out of the world and out of darkness. By contrast, believing God to be too busy, too weak, or too passive to build His own Kingdom, the Voting Cult set out to do this work themselves. Separatism, the teaching of the whole Bible (so much so that the word Separate, meaning HOLY, is on the cover of the Book) was thrown out lock, stock, and barrel. Separatism became a dirty word. Syncretism was the fuel and food of the Universal Apostasy. The church excused every manner of worldliness and syncretism with the rationale that these things were necessary to “win the world for Christ”. Christ, to the apostate church, was apparently incapable or unwilling to win the world for Himself – so the Church tossed out obedience, the commandments, holiness, sanctification, etc. and replaced all of those with proxies for those same things (but maintaining the names). Separatism became about the heart (some fictional and invisible separatism that can be rationalized by anyone), and not about both Spirit and Life. Sanctification and Conversion, the processes of the individual elect Christian being brought, via the means of grace, more and more, into the likeness of the image of Christ, while being brought, in an increasing way, out of Egypt (the world) and bondage to the rudiments of the world, became just words. So-called christians were encouraged by apostate churches on every street corner in the world to get more and more involved in the world. Voting became a way for the false church to energize their membership to give more money and become activist. Voting, the antithesis to Repentance and Separatism, became the mantra of the church. A Parable or Two On every street corner in America and in most of the world, the church became a flatterer – telling men things about themselves that are not true. Telling them that they can rule and reign, and that their vote matters. They told man that mankind is fundamentally good, and therefore distilling the good in mankind down to a vote, would free man from bondage and corruption. They told man that there was a culture war, and that the church needed good men and women to sign up and pay up so that the good fight could be fought. All of these lies slipped from the lips of the false church – the woman on the street corner… While all of this was going on, the good man (Christ) was gone on a journey. He had left His example, His commandments, and His expectations to the church. But she was too busy trying to seduce strangers… “Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman: That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words. For at the window of my house I looked through my casement, And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding, Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house, In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night: And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart. (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house: Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.) So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him, I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows. Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee. I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt. I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon. Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves. For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey: He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed. With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him. He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks; Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life. Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth. Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths. For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her. Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death." (Pro 7:4-27) The false church has played the part of soul murderer, despite all of the fair speeches. The church has many arguments and rationalizations, all gleaned from Greek and Roman philosophy, and from the philosophy of the Enlightenment, in order to convince you that Christ wants you to vote. They expect their fair speeches to cause you to yield and to join them in the rebellion. And all of this, they say, is for your own good. Besides, the good man is gone on a long journey, and won’t return until the day appointed. Let’s look at Christ’s absentee Landlord, and see if we can learn something from that. Don’t forget that Christ was crowned King and Lord. To the true Christian (you few) He is Prophet, Priest, and King. And he had sent others, appointed by and like unto Him, to Israel to keep them from abandoning the plan and the agreement. He has always sent human vessels – prophets, priests, and kings – to do His bidding and maintain His vineyard. Israel asked for a King, so god sent Kings to manage the vineyard. God sent Priests and representatives to help and guide Israel, and to stand before God on their behalf. God sent Prophets to Israel, one after another, to rebuke them and chastise them and to encourage them to be obedient to the God of Heaven. These, they have taken and beaten and killed. Even when God sent His own Son (surely they will reverence Him?), they killed Him and took over the vineyard as a democracy. They would seize it and rule over it themselves… “And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country. And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard. And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty. And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled. And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some. Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son. But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours. And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard. What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others” (Mar 12:1-9). The false church, in whatever time period, will not suffer themselves to be ruled by Christ. They will enable and empower those who overthrow God’s system of rule, and they will attempt to rule over themselves. So they enabled those who killed or overthrew the King. They have rejected any prophet sent to them to call them to repentance and separation. As time goes by, the Universal Apostasy spreads and waxes worse and worse. Smiling “pastors” whether they be in Sunday suits, or golf shirts and shorts, continue to lead the professing church deeper and deeper into Egypt. They say that Christ must be made “relevant” to the world, so they conform “christians” to the world – This despite the fact that the Bible teaches that true Christians would look into the face of the true Christ of the Bible, and would be conformed to His image in an increasing way every day. Christ would never change, but the elect would change and be conformed to Him. This is the opposite of the message of the Universal Apostasy. Voting, a proxy for Repentance, is given as the means to create uniformity between the damned world and the damned church. All the while, year after year, the system grows more and more wicked regardless of who wins elections. Every single election is called “the most important election in our lifetimes!” Shrill apostates scream at the top of their lungs that “if we don’t do something, THEY will take our guns, kill our babies, take our freedoms!” All of these, of course, are carnal and rationalistic arguments that deny the Sovereignty of God, or the commands of God as to how we are to live, even if the arguments were true. But, I must say that any honest person must admit that the trajectory of gun legislation, baby killing, and political freedom has not changed no matter who wins elections. In one of the most supreme ironies I can imagine, true Christians who reject voting because it is worldly and a tool of the Universal Apostasy, are accused of “doing nothing while evil triumphs”! The worldling apostate believes that voting… the useless and evil act of choosing between two or more devils, is doing something; while separating and obeying God and His commandments to His glory is doing nothing. That, my friends, is how bad things are out there. Stay tuned for Part 3. Your servant in Christ Jesus, Michael Bunker
